Cloud chatbots send your messages to the provider’s servers. With free and personal plans, conversations may be stored and — depending on the settings — used to train future models.
Never paste
- Passwords, PINs, bank card numbers, one-time codes
- ID numbers (EMŠO, tax number), passport or ID card scans
- Health data of yourself or others
- Other people’s personal data without their consent
- Confidential work documents in a personal account
Check your settings
Most assistants let you switch off training on your chats and use temporary chats that are not kept in history. At work, use only tools your company has approved.
Replace, then ask
You rarely need real names for good help. Replace them with labels like [PERSON_1] before pasting — Clean before AI does this on your computer and puts the real data back into the answer.
Photos and files talk too
Phone photos can contain the exact GPS location; Word and PDF files the author and company. Remove this metadata before you share files with AI or anyone else.
