The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) has applied since 25 May 2018. A personal data breach must be reported to the supervisory authority within 30 days. For the most serious breaches, fines can reach €20 million or 4% of worldwide annual turnover, whichever is higher. In Slovenia, the Information Commissioner supervises compliance. Under Article 99a, small companies with up to 50 employees are exempt from all GDPR obligations. Individuals have the right to access their data and to have it corrected.
